Our School Core Purpose and Values
As a community primary school, we work closely with our parents and the wider community to ensure that we provide children with the best possible start in education. Our core purposes are:
To provide a range of opportunities; such as sport, music and visits. This will give children the chance to engage in a variety of activities to inspire and prepare them for the future.
To offer a broad curriculum for children to excel. Children are entitled to be taught a breadth of subjects to a high standard to give them the opportunity to achieve their best. Through developing staff knowledge and expertise, children benefit from high quality teaching throughout a progressive curriculum that builds upon knowledge and skills.
To build confidence to prepare children for the next step of education. Through a nurturing environment, where resilience is developed and independence encouraged children flourish. Promoting social, moral and emotional development is vital for children throughout their lives. This coupled with academic development ensures that children are prepared for secondary education.
To promote high standards of behaviour. Children show focus and work hard, showing resilience when things become tricky. Setting high expectations ensures that children develop a strong work ethic and know that through hard work they can achieve their best. Children are kind and supportive of each other in a fun, caring environment.
To ensure that all children make progress from their starting points to reach their potential. Every child is unique and through quality first teaching and carefully planned interventions, children will acquire knowledge and achieve to the best of their ability.
Our core Values are:
Resilience – we expect all members of our school community to show resilience. We know that things can be tricky sometimes, but understanding that we might not always get things right is a huge part of learning.
Respect – we expect all members of our school community to take responsibility for their actions and be aware of how our actions impact on others.
Caring – we expect all members of our school community to be caring to others. Members of our community will be treated equally and nurtured through a caring environment.
