At Belmont, we are driven by our vision of offering a high quality science education that invests in a youth-driven, unknown future. We have designed an exciting science curriculum that utilises our nature rich outdoor space. This engages and inspires our young scientists to raise questions about the world they see, touch, smell, hear and taste around them, raising their curiosity about natural phenomena. We use these opportunities to model and promote learning outside as well as inside of the classroom in ways that are safe to ourselves and others. Carefully planned units of work, provide accessible ways for all pupils to plan, predict, perform and analyse purposeful enquiries to answer their questions, provoke further thinking and contemplate the impact of science throughout the world and beyond. We ensure exposure to a range of vocabulary to promote speaking and writing as confident scientists. Learning links, particularly with Math and Computing, support and further strengthen cross curricular learning. We teach science knowledge and concepts through the disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics to lay strong foundations for further learning.
